D’Addario Zyex Double Bass Strings

Description

Zyex double bass strings are optimised for Pizzicato playing and delivering rich tone with lots of growl. They are made from a new generation of synthetic material, creating strings that are incredibly stable under varying climatic conditions. Zyex bass strings settle in on the instrument within hours, providing a rich, complex tone with power and clarity similar to a gut string, for both pizzicato and bowing. These strings are a great upgrade from the Helicore Pizzicato or Helicore Hybrid bass strings.

Zyex double bass strings are similar to Pirastro’s Evah Pirazzi, they both have a synthetic core which gives them a ‘gut like’ Pizz sound without the tuning instability of gut strings. They work equally as well under the bow and are easy to ‘start’ with them being very responsive.

Scaled to fit 3/4 size bass with a playing length of 41 3/4 inches (1060mm), the medium tension strings are optimized for a majority of players.
