Helicore Pizzicato double bass strings are optimised to produce a bright tone for Pizzicato playing. They are multi-stranded steel core strings that produce a brighter tone quality than the rest of the Helicore bass line. The core design makes for strings that are very easy to play under the left hand. Damping is reduced to create maximum sustain and “growl.”
We think that these are the best value Pizz specific double bass strings and fit them in our workshop to a range of basses for our customers with great results.
Helicore pizzicato double bass strings are suited to pizzicato playing. Medium tension strings are optimized for a majority of players.
Other strings worth considering are D’Addario Zyex or Pirastro Evah Pirazzi for a gut like Pizz sound and start easily under the bow. Helicore Hybrid are also worth considering if you will be playing Arco (with the bow) at any time.
