Pirastro Original Flexocor double bass strings are medium tension, orchestral tuning strings for 3/4 size basses and have the following key features:

  • Slightly quicker response than Original Flat Chromes

These are the original Flexocor strings that Pirastro superseded in 1992 with the ‘new’ Flexocor range AKA Flexocor ’92s

The core material of Original Flexocor’s is a high-tensile rope made from carbon steel, wound with chrome steel. They are an outstanding set for arco playing, which can withstand a powerful and heavy bowing arm. The Original Flexocor’s have a brilliant sound with a short sustain and at the same time have a powerful sound with excellent projection and big tone volume. They are instantly playable and stable tuning wise. Their response is very quick; slightly quicker than the Original Flat-Chromes
