This case is made to contain and give full protection to two bassoon crooks / bocals.
The crook / bocal case has a zip running along 3 sides of the case, so that when undone the crook case opens out like a book and stays open and flat. However when you zip the case up it slightly compresses the foam within the case to hold the crooks safely in place whilst still cushioning them.
The bassoon crooks are held securely in place within the crook case by the fixed leather straps. It has a free floating padded divider to prevent the two crooks coming into contact and cushioning them against each other whilst in the crook case. The interior of the crook case has a nice soft feel and cushions the bassoon crooks very nicely. The case has rigid boards sandwiched between the soft padding of the inner and the durable plastic backed woven outer material, this keeps the rigid form of the case and protects the crooks from any kind of bending.
The crook case will fit exactly into the front pocket of a Kim Walker bassoon case and can be used as a direct replacement for the crook case supplied with the Kim Walker case.
