Very high quality rosin from this Danish string maker. The Larsen Cello Rosin is melted in a vacuum – totally free of oxygen – which eliminates most of the allergens otherwise found in rosin for stringed instruments.
The red type is a bit softer (and stickier) than the regular Larsen rosin.
The “dark” rosin is used more in low temperatures (autumn or winter), for full-tone playing, in an orchestra, or for great solo concerts.
The “light” rosin is used more in high temperatures (spring or summer), for “smooth” playing or for solo in chamber music.
Melos rosins are tested to “function” effectively under any condition. They are handmade in small batches in Greece from natural ingredients. Melos “sticky” Rosin is softer and “bites” the strings stronger than Melos “dark” Rosin.
