Pirastro No.1 Violin Strings have a coated carbon steel core material with high tensile strength and are wound with a very thin chrome steel flat-wire. They produce a warm, sweet and brilliant sound with outstanding response. A major advantage is no whistling of the open E-string. As the No.1 E-string is wound with chrome steel, it is long-lasting. Chrome steel cannot corrode and is not affected by hand perspiration.

The No.1 violin E string is available in full size with a ball or loop-end. Soft, Medium and Strong tension variants are also available.
