Our lightweight (3.25kg) Bass Bags bass clarinet case/gig bag backpack is a gig bag that is designed to fit and carry all bass clarinets to low C, although it cannot accommodate one-piece body bass clarinets.
Carrying the Bass Clarinet Case Backpack
Our Bass Clarinet gig bag backpack can be carried like you would a holdall bag; by the two handles on the front. Or, vertically using the handle conveniently positioned at the top of the gig bag. Our Bass Clarinet gig bag can also be carried easily as a backpack using the two shoulder straps on the rear of the gig bag. These can be unclipped and stowed out of sight for neatness in a dedicated zip compartment on the back of the gig bag if or when not required.
How the Bass Clarinet Fits in the Gig Bag
The bass clarinet gig bag stands upright and opening via a zip panel which flips up and over to reveal the interior of the gig bag. The bottom joint should be placed down into the right-hand rearmost compartment; this is the longest section of the gig bag. The top joint should fit into the forward compartment on the right-hand side, directly in front of the bottom joint. The clarinet’s Bell goes into the larger left-hand section of the gig bag. There are separate pouches for the head joint and mouthpiece; these go into space above the bell.

Design and Construction of the Gig Bag
The gig bag outer is high-quality hard-wearing Cordura that is water-resistant and has a smart matt finish on the exterior. The interior of the gig bag is made from foam-backed crushed velour which provides excellent protection for the bass clarinet. Sandwiched in between the outer and inner layers there are rigid sections on all four sides, which give valuable protection to the clarinet inside. All the materials used in our gig bags are of the highest quality and durability, outlasting most other gig bags on the market.
