“Looking at the Double Bass” is a book that has been on our bookshelves for as long as I can remember since I was a child and is one of my favourites. It is a dictionary of Double Bass makers of the world. It is packed with illustrations of double basses, helping the reader to recognise the origins of an instrument. The book also includes guides to the attribution of workmanship, wood and varnish and is a fascinating read.
