This Premium J.T.Lamy cello bow is handmade under the supervision of a Master Archetier in the style of Dominique Peccatte honouring his expertise and craft from the French bow making region of Mirecourt.
To ensure this bow meets the quality of the J.T.Lamy range the ‘Peccatee’ bow blanks are selected from the finest Pernambuco tone wood seasoned for over 5 years with each blank being test by the Lucchi meter for resonance and musicality. The bows are then finished with a Burmese Ebony Frog and 925 Silver wire and fittings and haired with Mongolian horsetail prized for its thickness and strength.
Supplied in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.
Dominique Peccatte, born 1810, was an apprentice luthier in Mirecourt, France. Peccatte bows were a little more sturdy than other French bows of the era, and although not quite as flexible as his peer’s creations, his weightier constructions allowed the musician to obtain greater volume and rich articulation, well suited to the concert halls of the time.
