This is the quickest, easiest and neatest way to mount a jack socket onto a double bass tailpiece. It completely negates the need for removing and refitting the G string. This means that the socket is mounted in seconds without the risk and hassle of removing and refitting the string. No alteration to the tailpiece is necessary.
We’ve found in the workshop that our jack mount kit has reduced our Copperhead and Lifeline pickup fitting time to less than 5 minutes. Just mounting a jack to the tailpiece takes less than a minute.
The mount works well with all types of pickup sockets that are found on pickups like the Realist, Fishman and Shadow.
We have carefully chosen the component materials of the mount for this specific application, the washers on either side of the tailpiece are made of Neoprene. This is to ensure there is no damage to the tailpiece and that it doesn’t affect the sound of the bass.
No tools are needed to fit it to the double bass tailpiece.
