Allianz Musical Instrument Insurance

It’s important to think about musical instrument insurance, home insurance policies often have high excesses and these can deter musicians from making a claim when they need to. Instruments can often exceed the single item limit on home contents policies, and listing an instrument as a specified item can significantly increase the premium.

Whilst many musicians think home contents insurance is sufficient, it might not be. Specialist musical insurance is inexpensive and often costs less than adding your instrument to your home contents insurance and if you make a claim, your home contents no claims discount won’t be affected.

Specialist musical insurance covers professional use and provides specialist and prompt claims settlements on a ‘like for like’ (best for vintage instruments) or ‘new for old’ basis (for newer instruments), whatever suits your needs.

Allianz policies cover;

  • Theft, accidental loss or damage
  • Theft from unattended vehicles (optional extra)*
  • Unlimited professional use
  • Cover for instruments whilst in transit (not including premises only policies)
  • Cover for the cost of hiring alternative instruments in the event of a claim
  • Personal Accident and Public Liability (optional extra)
